For HNL Lab Tests Direct, we do not accept insurance. Payments can be made via credit card or PayPal at the time of ordering. For any doctor-ordered tests, you can learn more about insurance plans and payment options here. 

HNL Lab Medicine accepts Medicare for doctor-ordered tests. You will be billed for any co-payments and/or deductibles as required by federal law. This also applies to genomics testing. However, HNL Lab Tests Direct does not accept insurance, including Medicare.

There are several convenient ways to pay your bill:

• For HNL Lab Tests Direct users, users will pay at the time of order with a credit card or via PayPal.

For doctor-ordered lab test:

• Log in to your patient portal and click Pay Bills on your portal dashboard or on Pay My Bills in the menu on the left. This will take you to the Billing Portal. You can log in in using your account number or patient ID. This information can be found on your invoice.
• Make a payment over the phone. You can also contact one of our billing representatives who will be happy to help you. Please call 877-402-4221, between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday-Friday to speak to a representative.

Log in to your patient portal and navigate to Lab Results & Test Orders. Find the order you're looking for and click on the three dots next to View Results. From here, you can download and print your invoice or lab script right from here.

You may request a refund of your lab order prior to collection. HNL Lab Tests Direct will refund the money spent on your order (minus 10% for processing) if the test was not administered. No processing fee will be added if you would like to return your test order for store credit. If you have already visited one of our laboratories and had a specimen drawn for analysis, we cannot offer a refund because the service was completed. If for any reason HNL Lab Tests Direct is unable to process your sample, you will receive a full (100%) refund for the test(s) not performed. 

Lab orders are valid for up to six (6) months from the purchase date. Refunds will not be made after the expiration date of the requisition form. 

Yes. HNL Lab Tests Direct enables you to securely browse and purchase tests without the need for a prescription from your provider. Additionally, you can securely access results for these tests as well as any tests ordered by your doctor in your patient portal.

Yes. In your patient portal you have the ability to set up a Minor Account under your main account. The Minor Account function allows you to order tests and view results for your dependents under 18. Once you complete the verification process, you'll be able to seamlessly manage results for both self-ordered and doctor-ordered tests for any connected Minor Accounts. To add a Minor Account, visit your patient portal and click on Shared Accounts.

No. HNL Lab Tests Direct allows you to buy your own lab tests without an order from your doctor. This makes it easy for you to get your tests performed without an appointment and without a visit to a doctor’s office.

Currently, all genomics testing must be ordered by a physician. HNL Genomics does not provide direct-access testing for consumers at this time.

Yes, HNL Lab Tests Direct offers the same lab tests trusted by healthcare professionals.

Yes! You can link accounts with spouses, family members, or similar to share results, or monitor theirs. In order to share an account from your patient portal, you'll have to set up a linked account. The second party will then be asked to enter a verification code that you will receive and provide them in order to ensure the link is secure. To set up a shared account, log in to your patient portal and navigate to the Shared Accounts page. 

When you're ready to check out, you'll see a place to enter your promo code before you place your order. Promo codes cannot be retroactively added to an order, so don't forget to enter it at checkout.

Yes! You can add your dependent's account information for anyone who is in your care that is under 18. To do this, navigate to your patient profile and in the left-hand menu, select Shared Accounts. Use the Add a Minor button to add your dependents. This will allow you to view their doctor-ordered and self-ordered results, and manage their healthcare journey until they are 18.

For all self-ordered tests from HNL Lab Tests Direct, you can view, download, and print your lab script from your Patient Portal. Log in to your patient portal and navigate to Lab Results & Test Orders in the menu on the left. From there, find the order and click on the three dots on the right, next to the View Report button. From there you can view and download both your lab script and invoice. 

Navigate to your patient portal and click on Lab Results. This shows a list of all self-ordered and doctor-ordered tests. Uncheck doctor-ordered results and you'll see a list of all self-ordered tests. To view the invoice for an order or print the Lab Script, click the three dots next to View Report. From here you can download both invoices and scripts. For all tests that are completed, the View Report button will be clickable to provide you with your results.

No. When you arrive at our Patient Service Center, simply present your lab script at the time of service. Lab Scripts for self-ordered tests can be found by visiting your patient portal and navigating to the Lab Results & Test Orders page. Find the order and click on the three dots next to View Report. From here, click on Lab Script to download and print your associated script.

No! Walk-ins are welcome and wait time is typically 15 minutes or less. Find a location near you by visiting our locations page. 

 

Each test that is orderable from HNL Lab Tests Direct has information on test preparation right in the description. For doctor-ordered tests, consult the paperwork provided by your physician. Most tests do not require any preparation. You simply go to the testing center of your choice and have your sample drawn at a time that is convenient for you. If your test requires you to fast (not eat or drink anything besides water for at least 8 hours before the test), it will be listed in the test description.

Please bring your script to your lab appointment. Whether doctor-ordered or self-ordered, a script will be necessary to conduct lab work. For self-ordered tests, you can find your script for each order in your patient portal under the Lab Results section. Simply click the three dots on the right-hand side next to View Report to view and print your Lab Script.

For all self-ordered tests from HNL Lab Tests Direct, you can view, download, and print your lab script from your Patient Portal. Log in to your patient portal and navigate to Lab Results & Test Orders in the menu on the left. From there, find the order and click on the three dots on the right, next to the View Report button. From there you can view and download both your lab script and invoice.

Your identification is crucial for maintaining precise records and ensuring proper identification, minimizing errors and guaranteeing you get the correct care. Patients without a valid photo ID will have alternative methods to confirm their identity.

Your test results for HNL Lab Tests Direct and all doctor-ordered lab tests will be available in your patient portal. You can access your patient portal by clicking the Patient Portal button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. You can see all of your results under Lab Results. Simply, click on View Report next to the lab results you're looking for. If the View Report button is grayed out, it's because your Lab Results are not yet ready. That button will become active once they are. 

For all doctor-ordered tests, we recommend that you consult with the ordering physician. For any self-ordered tests, we recommend setting up an appointment to review results with your primary care physician. If you don't currently have one, a local list of primary care physicians can be found here. 

To see a historical view of your lab results, visit your patient profile. Then, click on Lab Results & Test Orders in the left-hand menu to see a list of all of your completed laboratory tests. To view results for a specific laboratory visit, click on View Report next to the order you'd like details on.

The View Report button will remain grayed out while results are being processed. Once results are ready, that button will be active and clickable.

In your patient portal, you have the ability to set up a Minor Account for minors under 18 that you're responsible for. Once in your patient profile, click Shared Accounts in the menu on the left. You can set up a Minor Account from there. 

"Normal value range" for lab results refers to the set of values that are considered typical for a healthy individual in a specific population. It's important to note that these ranges can vary based on factors like age, sex, and specific laboratory methods. A result falling within this range is generally considered normal, while values outside of it may indicate a need for further medical evaluation, though they don't necessarily signify a health problem on their own. If you'd like to review your results with a healthcare professional, you can schedule an appointment here. 

Abnormal Value: An abnormal value refers to a test result that falls outside the established normal value range for that specific test. It indicates a deviation from the typical values seen in a healthy population and may suggest a need for further investigation. While an abnormal value may indicate a need for further medical evaluation, the results need to be taken in context with the rest of your health.

Critical Value: A critical value, on the other hand, is a test result that not only deviates from the normal range but is also significantly outside typical values to the extent that it may indicate a clinically significant condition requiring immediate medical attention. Critical Value results require immediate attention.

If you receive a critical or abnormal result, please contact your primary care physician to review your results. Critical results can have serious health consequences, so prompt follow-up is required. If you don't have a primary care physician, click here to find a provider near you.

Yes. We prioritize the confidentiality of our testing and results. Your personal information and test results are securely stored and kept private. To ensure accurate communication and prompt medical attention if needed, we require your name, address, age, gender, and phone number. HNL Lab Tests Direct is committed to upholding HIPAA regulations to safeguard your personal details and test results. Your tests results may be shared with our Health System Partners to provide any necessary follow-up care. In accordance with public health guidelines, certain positive test results may be reported to relevant agencies. This information is used to monitor emerging trends in infectious diseases. Any tests that require reporting to public health agencies will be clearly indicated in the test description. 

Additionally, choosing to share your results with a trusted third party, whether it's a family member or your provider will enable others to access your lab results.
