About The Test

Test Overview

A nine-panel drug screen is a widely used drug testing method designed to identify the presence of nine specific categories of drugs within an individual's system. These categories cover a diverse range of substances, including amphetamines (including amphetamine and methamphetamine), cannabinoids (with a focus on THC, the active compound in marijuana), fentanyl, cocaine, opiates (such as heroin, morphine, and codeine), phencyclidine (commonly referred to as PCP), benzodiazepines (including drugs like Xanax and Valium), barbiturates (such as phenobarbital), methadone, and specimen validity tests.

Test Includes

Amphetamine

Amphetamines are a class of stimulant drugs that can affect the central nervous system.

Cannabinoids (Marijuana)

Cannabinoids are a group of compounds detected to indicate the use of cannabis or related products.

Cocaine

Cocaine, as a component in drug screening, is a potent stimulant substance tested for to identify recent use or exposure.

Opiates

Opiates, as a component in drug screening, are a class of narcotics tested for to detect the use of drugs derived from opium, such as heroin, morphine, and certain prescription painkillers

Phencyclidine (PCP or Angel Dust)

Phencyclidine is a hallucinogenic drug, commonly known as PCP or angel dust, often associated with its potent mind-altering effects.

Barbiturates

Barbiturates are a class of drugs that act as central nervous system depressants. They are often used medically to treat conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, and seizure disorders due to their sedative and tranquilizing effects.

Benzodiazepines

Benzodiazepines are a class of psychoactive drugs that act as central nervous system depressants. They are commonly prescribed for treating a variety of conditions such as anxiety, insomnia, seizures, and muscle spasms.

Methadone

Methadone is a synthetic opioid medication used primarily for pain management and as a treatment for opioid dependence.

Fentanyl

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid analgesic that belongs to the family of fentanyl analogs. Chemically, it's classified as N-(1-phenethyl-4-piperidinyl)propionanilide. Fentanyl is highly potent and is used medically for pain management, particularly in cases of severe or chronic pain. In the lab, it's characterized by its molecular structure, pharmacological properties, and synthesis pathways, often studied for both medical and forensic purposes.

Understanding Results

A positive result indicates the presence of the substance(s) tested for in the urine sample. A negative result indicates the absence of substance(s) tested in the urine sample.  Confirmation testing is performed on all positive screening results. Confirmation testing is a secondary analysis performed on the same specimen. It identifies the actual drug or metabolite present and verifies the positive screen result. Additional charges apply for confirmation testing.
