- Hives or raised, red patches of skin
- Itching of the skin or eyes
- Swelling of the face, lips, throat, or tongue
- Difficulty breathing or wheezing
- Dizziness or fainting
- Rapid heartbeat
- Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea
- Anaphylaxis, a potentially life-threatening reaction that impairs breathing and can send the body into shock

Common Wasp, Yellow Jacket Allergen
The primary allergens in common wasp (Vespula vulgaris) and yellow jacket venom are molecules called Ves v 1 and Ves v 5, along with antigen 5. Ves v 1 and Ves v 5 are marker allergens, meaning they are present in the venom of genuine yellow jacket (Vespula vulgaris) and can be used to differentiate genuine sensitization from cross-reactivity.
